Week 28 - Take 2

Third trimester has officially begun! I went to see my midwife this morning. So far I have gained 18 pounds, Isabel's heartbeat is in the 140s, and everything is measuring perfectly. I did the glucose test so we will see the results of that soon. This time around I didn't have to drink that flat orange drink. I just ate a specific breakfast in the morning and two hours later had my blood drawn at my appointment. Pretty cool. I think it's a much better way of doing the glucose test than the way they do it at an OB office. My mom was able to accompany me to the appointment. It was good for her to meet my midwife and ask questions about how a home birth works. I think it helped to ease her mind and get more comfortable with what will happen when Isabel is born.

Even though Isabel is still in the womb she received quite a few Christmas gifts this year. Most of it was cute clothes, of course. Her side of the closet is slowly filling up and I've already run out of hangers. I'm thankful that so many people are excited for her arrival. It helps me feel a bit more relaxed about it all. I keep realizing that, yes, there will be some hard days, but in the end I will have two beautiful babes that my heart will be swelling up with love for. How blessed am I?!

Here is week 28. We put a little gift bow on the belly because that's what Isabel is, a gift. Hope you all had a blessed Christmas with loved ones.
