month nine

It's scary how fast the time goes. I feel like I'm going to blink and Isabel will already be a year old. Only three months to go!

At nine months old Isabel is such a sweetheart. I grow more in love with her with each passing day. I can't get over how sweet and loving she is. She's not too high-maintenance but she definitely has her moments when she does NOT want to be put down. But homegirl weighs more than twenty pounds so I try to make the floor appealing with lots of toys. ;-) She's still not crawling and any time I try to make her practice she protests. Sometimes it looks like she really wants to take off but she just won't do it yet. I'm not worried about it, but I am looking forward to her becoming mobile. I think it's so fun when they start crawling and walking.

She's still taking two naps a day and rocking it! She has finally learned to fall asleep on her own, in her crib, with no crying. Hallelu! We're still working on night time sleep. Her training got interrupted because she had a cold but now that she's all better we've started up with the sleep training again and it has paid off! She's improved so much and it's so nice to be able to sleep at night. I need my sleep!

She's loving food too. She eats a variety of purees and finger foods. She's not really into the green veggies so I end up mixing it with a fruit or even yogurt since it's her favorite. I introduced a straw cup with water at her meal times. She has figured out how to suck on it but I don't think she's too keen on the water. She always makes a face and doesn't end up drinking too much. But that's okay. She'll get used it and I'm hopeful that we will be able to wean from the bottle soon after her first birthday.

I'm just incredibly thankful to be this baby girl's mommy. She is truly amazing and a delight to me each day. Here's her nine month photo:
