The Christmas Season

I love this time of year. Liam has been looking forward to Christmas since last year! He's become enamored with the holiday. It's fun to be able to share the magic with him. It's also Isabel's first Christmas. It's always special to celebrate the firsts.

I really want to emphasize the birth of Christ this season. We downloaded the new Bible App for Kids and Liam has enjoyed playing with it. But when I tried to show him the Christmas story on the app (which he was super excited to see) he got upset that it wasn't really Christmas...that's because there was no Santa or Christmas trees or any of that...just the story of the birth of Jesus. I'm not anti-Santa but I don't want my kids thinking that's what it's all about. So I'm hoping to talk with him more about it and I'm sure they will be learning about it at school as well.

I'm also going through the She Reads Truth advent devotional, Emmanuel. I want to remind myself daily that God is with us and that my focus should be on Him during this time (and always really).

We have a lot going on over the next few weeks but I'll be checking in on the blog as much as possible. I just ask that you keep our little family in prayer as there will be some changes coming up (and NO I'm not pregnant). Thank you, friends!

Here's a shot from church on Sunday. So happy the Christmas season is here!
