It's so much fun getting to experience holidays through the eyes of your children. It brings back a bit of magic that maybe you lost somewhere along the way. It's also fun to create new traditions or relive old ones.
This year I decided I would make an Easter basket for Liam. I got a cute felt fox basket from Target and filled it with some cheap toys, crayons, books. He loved it! I can't wait until next year when I also make a basket for Isabel (at just barely three weeks old I didn't think a basket was necessary for her). We also did a good old fashioned egg hunt in the backyard which Liam also enjoyed. He was so into it. He's definitely my little explorer.
And this time of year always make me reflect on Christ and the work He has done for us. I'm so humbled and amazed by His love and sacrifice. It reduces me to tears. I don't deserve it but He freely gives it. I pray that my children will see what Easter is truly about, Jesus' victory over the grave, and will come to accept His gift to us for themselves someday.
