Liam is TWO!
Liam is two years old today! We had an amazing party for him yesterday which I will be posting about later in the week. Right now I just want to talk about what an amazing little boy we have...
At two years old Liam is talking up a storm. He repeats almost everything he hears and is even putting together short sentences. He needs to work on his pronunciation but I am just so proud of him. I can't believe he's talking so much.
He did well in his summer class at the Montessori school and next week stars K2 at CFA. I can't believe how much he has learned in just the past couple of months. He knows all the letters and many numbers. He sings lots of songs and has some of his favorite books memorized. He recognizes all kinds of different animals and shapes. He has even started to really understand the concept of counting. When he has two of something he says, "two bears," or whatever it is that he's holding. And when I tell him he can only have one apple sauce (the boy is obsessed) he will hold it up and say, "one apple," and understands he can't have any more. I don't know, I'm pretty impressed by that.
Liam is a fantastic big brother. He is always excited to see Nene, as he calls her. When he wakes up in the morning he says, "Hi Nene!" and wants to give her hugs, kisses, and high fives. He's so sweet and protective of her. He will even try to take her by the hand to run off and play. I have to gently remind him that she's still too young to walk.
He's still rear facing in his car seat, which means we made it to our goal of two years. Yay! I think we will soon switch him to forward facing but not sure exactly when. It will be fun to see his reaction to his new view in the car.
He is swimming like a fish! I'm talking head in the water, kicking his legs, moving forward. It's amazing. He really loves his swim class and is always asking to go swimming in our pool. I'm always so proud of him. Unfortunately we have to switch him to a different swim class and instructor soon because he will be going to school during his regular class time. I'm not looking forward to it because the few times he has had a sub for class he hated it. I hope he adjusts quickly. Liam gets attached to people and isn't too keen on change.
What more can I say about this boy? I love him so! And I'm so happy he's two. He challenges me daily to be a better mom and person. He brings me so much joy and laughter. He's one of my favorite people to spend time with every single day. He's a blessing to our family.
