Liam is 5
We've made it to Liam's 5th birthday! Five is kind of big deal, isn't it? It seems like a milestone. I really can't deny that he's growing up. In a couple of weeks he will begin kindergarten. He is already reading and writing. He paints beautiful pictures. He is seeing the world in a whole new way. I've always been impressed with how mature he is.
Liam has always been and will probably always be the child who really makes me work in this parenting gig. Nothing comes easy with him. He's the kind of child who feels deeply and asks endless questions. He exhausts me but he also makes me beam with pride. He really is incredibly smart and kind and sweet. He loves fiercely and is quick to forgive. When he is into something he goes all in. I trust him to be a great big brother and a kind friend. I feel his love and admiration for me and his dad.
I see so much of myself in him which is kind of cool but also kind of terrifying. I really believe that he will grow to be great man someday. I pray everyday that he will love God and love people and do good. And I pray that Alex and I will be able to guide him and mold him into someone who lives unapologetically for the Lord. Someone who will be a world-changer and peacemaker.
Love you, Liam. Happy 5th Birthday!
